Geneva’s World Economic Forum (WEF) has just announced that outgoing ICANN CEO Fadi Chehadé is joining it as senior advisor to its Executive Chairman and Founder Klaus Schwab.
Chehadé is quoted as saying: “I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the World Economic Forum’s work, advising the Global Challenge Initiative on the Future of the Internet. I am deeply committed to doing everything I can to help ensure a trusted digital world, advancing global economic development and social progress for all. The Forum is uniquely positioned as an enabling platform to coalesce public, private and civic leaders and experts to form networks addressing the many economic and societal issues requiring global cooperation.”
In a recent blog post, ICANN Chairman of the Board Steve Crocker confirmed that Chehadé would be working full time with the organisation until the last day of his current contract, March 12, 2016. Chehadé will only enjoy a few days of holiday time before joining the WEF on April 1, 2016.
