icannlogoIn its effort to reach out to as wide an audience as possible, ICANN’s Nominating Committee (NomCom) is this year translating much of its content into several languages.

Even though fluency in English is a requirement to apply for the (Board, GNSO Council, ccNSO Council and ALAC) positions the NomCom recruits to, the process itself aims to be as international as possible. Under NomCom procedures for example, it’s possible for a candidate to be “suggested” by a third party. Whether the candidate speaks English or not, the person submitting a suggestion to the NomCom should not have to.

The NomCom’s translations are a work in progress and not all pages are complete. As the committee advances its work through its current cycle, it produces more content (such as report cards) which must in turn be translated. Examples of translations already posted can be found here (Spanish), here (Turkish), here (Arabic), here (Korean) or here (Russian).
