ICANN’s Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) will be choosing a new Chair during the Los Angeles meeting week.
The GAC’s current Chair, Canada’s Heather Dryden, is not seeking renewal. Heather was named Interim Chair in 2010 and then went on to carry out two full terms as Chair. Her current term is set to expire at the end of the first ICANN meeting of 2015.
Milathan understands that Lebanon’s Imad Youssef Hoballah and Switzerland’s Thomas Schneider are the two candidates to replace Heather Dryden.
The election is scheduled for Tuesday October 14, during the ICANN 51 meeting week.
