This weekend at the classic Dijon circuit, about 350 km from Paris, Team Milathan will bring 2014 to a close in style. The last race of the season, a gruelling 5-hour endurance nail-biter, will include an all-star cast as World Champion and Paris-Dakar winner Stéphane Peterhansel, fellow Peugeot factory driver and also Paris-Dakar Rally winner Cyril Despres, and Peugeot CEO Carlos Tavarès team up!
Both Peterhansel and Despres have a wealth of experience on 2 and 4 wheels, whilst Tavarès is a seasoned racer with many hours of track experience in both his previous job at Renault and since taking the CEO spot at Peugeot on April 1, 2014.
Despres actually raced at the 2014 Peugeot Championship’s last race, in Spain, which Team Milathan was unable to attend due to ICANN-related commitments. Tavarès will also be racing in another class during the Dijon weekend, on a 250 hp race-prepared Peugeot RCZ.
The trio’s entry for the 2014 finale shows the level of the Peugeot Championship, considered one of the leading race series in France and the ideal training ground for future champions. Hot off their best finish of the season, the 12th place they scored at Ledenon, Team Milathan veteran crew of Julien Jacob, Philippe Rézeau and Stéphane Van Gelder are once again looking forward to beating the odds and getting close to the top ten.
