Senior Vice President of the Internet Society Markus Kummer has been elected by the Non Contracted Parties House (NCPH) of the Generic Names Supporting Organisation (GNSO) to the ICANN Board.
Kummer will replace Bill Graham, who has held Seat 14 – one of the two positions on the ICANN Board reserved for GNSO-elected candidates – since 2011.
Kummer has served as the Executive Coordinator of the Secretariat supporting the Internet Governance Forum (IGF).
Previously, Kummer worked for the United Nations and the Swiss Foreign Ministry.
Kummer will take his seat on the ICANN Board at the end of the Annual General Meeting, held this year in Los Angeles in October.
