The UK’s Wales and France’s Bretagne are amongst the regions gearing up for the launch of the very own web addresses.
Welsh Prime Minister Carwyn Jones is hoping .CYMRU and .WALES will “create a fantastic opportunity for Wales that support development of businesses, communities and the Welsh language online.”
Bretagne TLD .BZH’s David Lesvenan echoed the sentiment. “We can’t wait to give local individuals and businesses the opportunity to wave their cultural flag on the Internet.”
The French regional suffix is set to open with a Sunrise phase giving trademark holders priority in June before going live for everyone in October.
The Welsh TLDs will follow a similar rollout plan, with a September Sunrise and general availability in early 2015.
